How to Play Use Boxmen

The controls of Use Boxmen are extremely straightforward – simply use the arrow keys to move forward, backward, and to jump up in the air. To create clones of your boxman, press the shift key. This is the most important part of Use Boxmen – if you can’t utilize your clones properly, the game is impossible to complete.

The overall goal of Use Boxmen is to capture the box at the end of the level. These boxes can either be captured by your own character, or with one of the clones that you create along the way. The only real objective is to get that box by any means necessary.

Don’t be fooled by the simple aesthetics and the silly characters. Use Boxmen is a difficult game that requires some in-depth strategy to complete. You won’t be able to just blindly parkour your way around the map all the way to the end.

Boxmen are expendable

You can’t be too worried about losing some of your boxmen along the way. They are just copies of yourself, so it is totally okay if a few of them go off the ledge. 

Pay attention to how many boxmen you have

You are only given a limited amount of boxmen to duplicate during each level. You can see how many you are given in the top left corner of the screen. Take this into consideration when planning out your route. You don’t want to be in the middle of the level and realize that you don’t have enough clones to execute your plan. 

Plan a path

The first few levels of Use Boxmen are fairly easy and straightforward. However, by level 6 or 7, you will need to start thinking about how you will make your way to the end of the level and claim the box. If you simply begin the level with no planning, it is highly unlikely that you will get the result you desire.

It’s completely okay to take your time and think for a long while about how to win. There is no penalty for winning the game slowly, the only thing that matters is that you complete it. 

Restarting is okay

Sometimes there will be levels where you make the wrong decision. For one reason or another, things just didn’t seem to go to plan at all. During these times, just hit R to restart. Understanding when a run is not able to be salvaged is an important part of successfully playing Use Boxmen.
