How to Play Metro Escape

Metro Escape Strategies

If you haven’t played a single escape game before, you might find Metro Escape to be a unique challenge. Not to worry though, in this Metro Escape walkthrough, we’ll give you some basic tips that will help you in your journey. A lot of these tips may not seem like big words of wisdom, but they will help you more than you think.

Use your items

Every single item that you pick up will be used for something. Whether it is a key, a flashlight, or even a can of soda, everything is in the game for a reason. If you have one takeaway from this Metro Escape walkthrough, it should be that your items are the most important part of the game.

This means that whenever you are stuck, look to see if there are any items in your inventory. It will likely be the next step in your journey of escaping the suspicious subway and finding freedom.

Look for patterns

You might see some funny things lying around the rooms of Metro Escape. There are many hidden hints lying around that will give you some clues as to how to beat the game. You might see some fingerprints on a phone or some odd scribbles on a pad of paper. If you don’t have any items, looking for patterns is usually your next course of action.

Take a break

Once in a while, you might need a break to refresh and get a new perspective. In these cases, just take a minute to get up and do something else. It really doesn’t matter what it is, whether it be stretching or just getting a glass of water. The point is that you give yourself some time to refresh and recharge.

When you come back and try again, you might find that you have some new and fresh ideas that will help you progress forward. Sometimes all your brain needs is a little bit of a break so it can function to its best ability.

Ask for assistance when needed

One of the nice parts about Metro Escape is that you can always get a hint if you really need one. To ask for a hint, press the question mark in the top left-hand corner of the screen. It will then play a video for you, giving you a hint in return. This will tell you what your next course of action should be.

If you have tried every other strategy that you can think of and still can’t seem to figure it out, then using a hint is a great idea. There is absolutely no shame in admitting that you need help once in a while. While we recommend at least trying to figure out what to do for a few minutes before using a hint, it’s totally up to you!

Compared to other escape games such as Trace or Escape from Castle Claymount, this should be a breeze. If you are a skilled escape games veteran, then Metro Escape will only take you around 20-30 minutes in all likelihood, maybe less!

So now that you have learned 4 tips on how to play Metro Escape using this walkthrough, get in the tunnels and find your own way out! Who knows, maybe you’ll get so good at the game that you’ll start speedrunning it and finishing in mere minutes. You’ll never know until you get out there and give it your all.
