In Missile Command, players must stop incoming projectiles from attacking their base by launching missiles back at the attackers.

What was the first Atari console?

The Atari 2600 was the first Atari home console. Initially called the Atari Video Computer System (Atari VCS), it was released in 1977. It included two controllers, two joysticks, and a single cartridge for game storage. While the setup was humble, it had a major impact on the gaming industry. IGN referred to the Atari 2600 as “the console that our entire industry is built upon.”
