Tag Game Instructions

Move and jump with onscreen buttons. In the mobile version of this game, you can only play against bots. But if you play on a desktop or laptop, you can play with up to three other people!

There are four different modes in our version of Tag:

  • Points Tag - A strategic version of Tag, where one player who is IT has to Tag others. If you're not IT, you slowly earn points over time. You don't earn any points while you're IT. The first to reach the target number of points wins.
  • Knockout Tag - Each player starts the same number of points. When you're IT, you lose points. Hit zero and you're KNOCKED OUT! The game keeps going until there is only one player left!
  • Reverse Tag - Everyone is IT, except for one player. While NOT IT, you lose points. But don't worry, losing points is good. The player who gets to ZERO points first wins!
  • Zombie Tag - Multi-round Tag! One person starts as IT, and whenever they tag someone, that player becomes IT too. Get 1 point for tagging someone while IT, and 1 point if you can avoid being tagged until the end of the round. The first player to reach max points wins! If there is a draw, sudden death rules apply.

Want to customize your game even further? Use the OPTIONS button on the game selection screen next to START GAME.

Choose from a cast of mythical creatures:

  • Alien - Nobody really knows where they're from. They haven't phoned home for a long time...
  • Kraken - Everybody knows Kraken is from the ocean, but he isn't saying which one.
  • Squatch - A big, friendly giant! Don't let her imposing silhouette scare you.
  • Dragon - She's retired from fighting knights and just wants to play with her friends.
  • Pixie - Spends most of their time napping underground. They only come up for a good Tag session!
  • Kong - This quiet simian wants nothing more than to climb tall things like trees. Maybe a building one day?

Tag Game Tips

The objectives of tag are quite simple – tag your opponents and keep yourself from getting tagged. With that being said, you can still use a couple of basic tips to improve your skills and get better at the Tag Game.

Keep your high ground

On every single map, there will be platforms that you can jump off of, either onto the ground or onto other platforms. It is important to keep the high ground so you have can always have the option to either stay up on the higher platforms, or drop down when necessary.

Move in midair

When you are trying to either evade or chase your enemies, odds are that there will be a lot of jumping involved. One unique trait of Tag is that you can make tiny adjustments in midair after you have jumped. For example, you may have started to jump to the right, and realized that you have to start moving left. Using this to gain an edge is a critical part of Tag.

Use the jumping tokens

Oftentimes, in the middle of a Tag game, a token will appear on the map with a big UP arrow on it. Collecting this token will give you the ability to jump higher than normal, allowing you to jump way higher than every other player on the level. This gives you an obvious advantage that you can use to widen the gap between you and everyone else.

This is a game that can be played by up to four players on the same device! Don't worry if you don't have anyone to play against... you can add bots in the screen after you select your character!

You can use any of the four move and jump key layouts to play the game:

  • Player 1: WASD
  • Player 2: TFGH
  • Player 3: IJKL
  • Player 4: Arrow Keys
