How to Play the Chess Puzzle Game
The goal of this Chess puzzle game is to try and get a checkmate as quickly as you can! You'll only have a limited amount of turns on each board to do this.
First, tap on a piece to select it. Red circles will appear on the board - those are potential places you can put your piece. Tap on the circle you want to move your piece to. In the first few levels, you'll only have one turn to get a checkmate - so think carefully!
If you're having trouble, you can tap on the lightbulb in the bottom right corner for a hint. When you first start, you'll only have five hints. When you beat a level, you'll earn coins. You can tap on the shopping cart at the top of the screen and use your coins to buy hints.
Checkmate Strategies
Chess is already complicated as is, so naturally there are many people who struggle when starting out in this online Chess puzzle game. Not to worry though, if you follow a few basic rules then you will start out with a massive advantage.
Look for Checks
Putting your opponent in check is one of the most important concepts in Chess. This will force them to pull their King to safety. Using checks and figuring out how to expose their weaknesses is extremely important in Checkmate.
Pay attention to how many moves until Checkmate
At the top of the screen, there is a message that says how many moves away you are from Checkmating your opponent. Take this into consideration when planning out your attack. If there is only 1 move remaining, you must make sure that you are going to Checkmate your opponent during that move.
Don’t be scared to sacrifice
As you get to the harder puzzles, you will need to use less straightforward moves to solve the puzzles. A lot of these moves will involve sacrificing your pieces in order to better your position. Sometimes these sacrifices will be small losses, such as a Pawn or a Knight. Other times though, there will be big tradeoffs, such as losing your Rook or Queen. At the end of the day though, it’s all about getting Checkmate, so don’t worry about losing some major material when necessary.
