Cards 21 Game Instructions
The goal of Cards 21 is to reach the high score by reaching a combined card value of 21 in each column.
At the start of the game, you will see four empty columns, each displaying a "0" at the top. At the bottom of the screen, there's a deck of cards, with one card face up. Tap and drag the face-up card into any column. The number above that column will change to match the card's value. Keep adding cards until the total reaches 21.
Every time you reach 21 in a column, you earn points! Here are the ways you can reach 21 but score even more points:
- Any combination of 5 or fewer cards totaling 21 = 21 points
- Ace + King, Queen, or 10 = 31 points
- Ace of Spades + Jack of Spades = 41 points
- One 3 card + three 6 cards = 41 points
- Three 7 cards = 51 points + Wild Card
Use wild cards to clear entire columns!
But watch out! If a column’s total exceeds 21, or if you have 5 cards in that column but they don't total 21, you’ll lose a life. You only have three lives, so use them wisely!
You may get a wild card after watching an ad to help you out!
Cards 21 Strategy
While Cards 21 may seem very luck-based, there is actually a lot that you can do to boost your odds and improve upon your high score. Continue reading to learn a little more about how to optimize your playstyle.
Variety is key
Try your best to avoid getting the same numbers in each of your piles. If you have two piles with 18 points each, this limits your chances of getting 21. Instead, try your best to vary the numbers in each pile. You will increase your odds of getting a card that will give you the coveted 21.
Hold your wild cards
As mentioned before, wild cards have the ability to clear entire columns. Don’t just go using these haphazardly, they are extremely valuable. Wait for an emergency where times are looking bleak, then use it to get out of a pinch!
Try and get 11
When possible, try to get a pile that is worth 11 points in Cards 21. This is because there are far more cards that are worth 10 points than any other value. The 10, Jack, Queen, and King are all worth 10 points, so getting an 11-point pile gives you an easy route to get to 21.
